Domination/oppression is a system, a form of organization and values expresses in practices. Oppression is not located in or coming from one individual or group alone.

Hierarchy implies a distinction of superior and inferior. Hierarchy implies an 'Other'

How specific individuals act is important but to the system irrelevant as long as they do not fundamentally disrupt it's functioning. The system has it's own interests, logic and motives, it's own incentives/disincentives and tendencies.

Oppression is the loss of freedom, of autonomy.
